Snow IS Magical.

I love how it magically freezes the snot before it has even left my nose, magically freezes my car doors shut, magically prevents my car from starting and magically causes every driver on the road to act as if their head has been inserted into their anus.

I can't think of a more pleasant time of year.

Snow Days use to mean sleeping in, playing outside and all together blowing off the day. The days of the old "snow day" have now, long since passed and in their place is the grown-up 'snow day' ... the 'I have to make it to work even though school drivers don't dare go out' and the joy of waking to find 3 feet of snow covering ones car. It is mainly due to snow's most recent infraction that I send my bitter words of hate toward it, but after beginning my day by falling in the parking lot of work, I am in no mood to keep my true feelings hidden.

Aside from the hate, life continues to be happy, busy and productive as I slowly count the days until my street motorcycle and dirt bike can once again welcome me back. Dance is going incredibly well, even with the understandable drop off after the big show (Phantom of the Opera) (photos on facebook)... I look forward  to the performance swing class beginning very soon and am working on being optimistic about a teaching of dance opportunity that may or may not go through. On the teaching front, I draw closer and closer to finishing all the dratted Substitute teaching paperwork that would allow me to work in the Corning-Painted Post school district as an art sub; sadly the end of the school year draws closer as well. Here's hoping I get my butt in gear in time.
The New York City Comic Con is approaching quickly and I'm in honest debate with myself if I want to attend or not. My goal in the future is to eventually take my portfolio to one such Comic Con and approach those nice people who hire you, and beg them to give me a job...more on this to come.

Final approval for this weeks paper has just come in, so it is once again time to get back to work.

According to LiveJournal it has only been TWENTY-FOUR weeks since I last updated...go me. Sadly, today is not really a day for a legitimate update but I promise I will bombard you all with fantastic details about my life this weekend. So I am. I never update...but I'm working on it. Could keep you posted since we don't always get the chance to talk...but normally I enjoy the witty conversation that is not always gained from just posting.

So this being my first post I figure I'll just jump right in. Sitting in my living room fighting with sheets of construction paper as i try to finish up the display for my Portfolio presentation. The thrill of finally graduation from college is sadly being diminished by the memories of middle and elementary school science fairs which included much of the same gluing of construction paper as I am doing now.
Despite that, the really difficult part of this quarter is done. I passed portfolio with flying colors and I am pleased with my reel as it is. Still more I want to explore in Flash to put on my reel- but I think I have a good start.
ARGH back to gluing.....
